Prefixing Powder Cake is a new kind of powder cake which is installed in front mouth of perforating charge. The cake's diameter is the same as the perforating charge, so the cake can be tightly installed on the carrier along the edge of the charge. The cake is ring shaped and the inner diameter is 20mm so that it will not influence jet flow.
A compacted zone is formed after perforating and permeability of formation declines. Prefixing powder cake is used to relieve the compacted zone, lowers damage and largely improve production.
The stimulation cake is installed between shaped charges. It is ignited by high tempereature, high pressure gas and high temperature debris produced by detonating cord and perforating charges.
It is good for improving production and reducing near wellbore damage.
